Hastings/Crib Point Defrocking

Howdy,

as was rumoured in this group (I think...or did I hear it somewhere
else?), this weeks WON states that Hastings and Crib Point are to have
their mainline points spiked and be made unavailable for crossing trains
(ie, 'defrocked') as of early July.  Fixed signals are to remain.

Is it unusual to be given such notice of such an event (ie, a good 7
weeks?)
