Gonninans have apparently stepped back into the picture and taken up their
option to run South Dynon Loco!
It seems that they believe it will increase the value, and help them find a
buyer more easily.
A senior fitter boss told me that M.K supplied V/Line with an Engine for one
of our G's.
It was so badly built that no one was able to get it to go right, it
suffered about a 20% loss of power from day one. And self destructed pretty
soon! The parts used in the rebuild were not genuine, and some parts were
built for much earlier models. He told me that a misalignment of the timing
equipment was a possible reason. He said the rebuild was totally
incompetent, and worried that MK will buy Gonninans, and that is now on the
cards
