Given the political will, they will be found from somewhere. Maybe an
Endeavour reassigned from Broadmeadow and replaced with something older.

It's not unknown for SRA to lease preserved stock when it suits them..
Remember the preserved Tin Hares running out of Newcastle, the RTM N (or
H?) cars on Southern Highlands trains, and more recently 3801 Limited's
PFZ hired by Countrylink. Sure the PFZ move didn't quite work, but the
will was there. It is not beyond the realms of possibility for CityRail to
lease a 620/720 or DEB (probably one of those they just sold!) so an
Endeavour can be sent to Lithgow.
