Z3 Class getting around

Yesterday (Thurs), Swanston Trams' Z3 class seemed to be getting a bit
of a work out:
- A Z3 was seen in Bell St at about 13:00 on route 19 (usually
exclusively B2).
- A Z3 was seen coming from Airport West going to Essendon Depot on
route 59 at 19:25 (usually exclusively B2).
- A Z3 was seen on Dawson St on route 55 with the destination "ESSENDON
DEPOT". Now AFAIK, route 55 has no access to the Essendon Depot, so the
tram would have needed to go into at least North Melbourne to get to
Essendon (route 55 is usually operated using B2).
Why were these around? They were all in revenue service, so does
Swanston have a shortage of B2 class?
