As far as I know the Thirroul train is rostered for normal T sets or
even S sets and are considered Suburban runs. Hence doors would be
locked. It's not really up to the discretion of the guard either -
you'll find that that train has no provision for decanting of
lavatories in it's timetable as usually there wouldn't be any.
For interest sake, the longest rostered run for a train without
toilets is the 3:00pm Newcastle all to Hornsby then Sydney train.
Nearly 3 hours.
