He would inspire a terrific book!
He still runs the Yea post, too. I've known him since he (we) was
teenager. We organised a few fan-trips together 1968/9 to Daylesford,
Orbost and Picola. Great times to be a railfan. I believe he was one
of the last fireman trained on steam when there was a bit left. The
(mis)adventures he and others got up to - you'd never read about it.
We were going to do something about a book one day. I must remember to
ask him...........
