LA Rail Revival

This weekend the Metro Red line subway went into operation between the
downtown area of LA and Hollywood's famous intersection of Hollywood and
Vine.  It's been a long and expensive grind, but at last commuters have some
alternative to the congested and polluting freeway system.   Apart from the
subway which goes from Union Station to Hollywood, there are two light rail
lines and a number of Amtrak and Metrolink (heavy rail surface systems)
serving the LA area.
