Re: Where will the inter urban carriages come from for the Olympics

This sounds like a job for the Bus Industry. Many route buses will be going
to Sydney for the Olympics from Melbourne and other places, so why not lots
of coaches to supplement the trains?

V Line and Country Link are in the business of moving people from point A to
point B. Buses should be used where they are more economical than rail, and
to supplement holiday peak travel. Passengers would prefer the comfort of an
air conditioned coach to an antique cold and draughty railway carriage
dragged out of a museum for the weekend! (Most people don't want to travel
Gunzel Class)

Gone are the days when the railways had spare carriages available for the
school holiday and Easter rush.
