Not everyone goes to the CBD! After all, who would catch the 72 from
Camberwell to the CBD when the 70/75 would be much faster and the train
faster still.

I agree but the tram is then limited, there's not a lot of point extending
it past the Stables SC. At least the other way, you could run it as a local
feeder to the train at Sth Morang as originally proposed and further.

I agree with the sentiment but the time frame of trains to Whittlesea is
optimistic short of the Plenty corridor being developed which I doubt as the
Liberal government seem committed to Berwick / Cranbourne / Pakenham /
Frankston corridor.
