But you can have as many stopovers as you like on a normal full fare ticket,
as long as you complete the journey in 14 days.

The original post was about being unable to book MEL-SYD though, and it was
suggested that booking one seat MEL-ABX and another seat ABX-SYD or similar
would help. These are not stopovers.
