Go to www.auslig.gov.au and then click on "Place Names".

This then lets you search for any place name in Australia.

It gives you a map with a cross marking the spot, together with the 
coordinates.

There is one error that I have found (which I have reported). The town
I live in is located in the Pacific Ocean! However, other locations 
that I have checked up do seem correct.
