To all the amp heads out there!
Clyde's spiel on the Millenium Train (Syney's new spark due 01/2001) quotes
the following:
Mass of each car: 42 tonne (drinving trailer), 48 tonne (motor car)
Traction system: AC Drive 226kW/traction motor, 8 motors per 4 car
train.
That means 3616kW for 360 tonne OR 10.04kW/tonne tare!
I thought Tangara's had 170kW motors,2720 kW for 368 tonne OR 7.93kW/tonne
tare?
A 26.6% increase.
Where does this fit in with EMUs from Perth, Melbourne and Queensland?
