Yes, this anti-fraud.
But then again, another fault with the Metcrud system.
If you have a zone 1 ticket already, you have to either by 2/3 at the
ticket window and validate it at your destination; or travel without a 
zone 2 / 3 ticket and hope like hell a ticket inspector that might check
you is sympathetic!
