Dr Beeching

Daryl,
      I really dont know much on Dr Beeching and I am
sure that others could better answer the question, but
he is very well know due to the large amount of lines
he closed in the UK.
  There is a TV show, "Oh Doctor Beeching" which often
shows in the wee hours of the morning (not a terrific
ratings grabber) which is based on this period in time.
