Yes.
They are not able at this stage to replace their computers. Therefore all
services will revert to 1900 timings at 12pm December 31, 1999. At that time,
all electricity will be cut off as it can not be billed on non Y2K compliant
computers, and the operation of the suburban fleet will revert to 10 and 18
class locos. At this stage it appears that fare will also be effected, a
single from Bankstown to Central will cost 6 pence - or 5 cents.
