But this is no different from being able to purchase a Zone 1 ticket from
a suburban newsagency. The Met are encouraging people to pre-purchase
tickets (either to try and limit the mile-long queues that appear on
Monday morning or to counter the persistently stupid practice of Armaguard
people emptying coins from the machines in peak times), so they should at
least allow all machines to sell all tickets.
Besides, a Zone 2 validator wouldn't validate a Zone 1 ticket anyway, so
a person trying to defeat the system in this manner would get caught at the
other end.
