Re: Ringwood Station Works

: Any idea when construction of ** NEW ** Platform 1, waiting room, etc. will
: start?

Well over the weekend Ringwood was going well, the new points have been
installed and overhead done, at 9:30pm on Sunday night they were just
testing everything (most things were alright). This completes Stage 1
at Ringwood, and during the next four weeks they will construct Platfrom
1 as far at the signal box (leaving a small section becuase of the relay
romm, which will go, and the rodding for the down end points)

Stage 2 is Four weeks from now (closed down again, trains to Mitcham and
buses)

Stage 3 is four weeks again after that.

So it looks like this shut down at Ringwood will become monthly.

I will post some pictures of the works during the week some time at:
http://www.ecr.mu.oz.au/~cmgord/trains/pictures/ringwood.html

The points at the up end are operational (expect the one to the back
platfrom because there is no track there) So a down train can use either
platfrom, shunting to the Up line is now stopped and the leaver (55) is
not in use, this signal is one of the new LED ones and is very bright.

All signals will be LED's at Ringwood once completed.
