Darwin - North Australia Railway - Air Raids 57 years ago.

On the 19th of February 1942 at 1000 Hrs, Darwin was
bombed in the first of 64 air raids.  
Loco NF6 was blown into the water, being one of the
first casualties of mainland Australia bombing attacks.

The Commonwealth Railways  North Australia Railway
suffered considerable damage during the first and
subsequent aerial attacks by the Japanese.
