The current arrangement on Sunday's is, IMHO, pretty ordinary.  The Albury/Shep
run as a combined pass to Seymour.  Break the train at Seymour, one portion goes
on, another loco comes onto the other bit etc etc.  That seems like a good idea
until you check the NSP, which shows the loco which comes on at Seymour does in
fact go light engine from Melbourne about 30 mins ahead of the pass!  So there's
really bugger all saving to be made, all you do is confuse the passengers by
breaking the train into two portions at MSS, and of course you get the wrong
passengers in the wrong half etc etc.....
