The last regular passenger service on the Queanbeyan-Cooma line
operated on 26/11/1988.   The last train, a special passenger, ran on
28/5/1989.

You are thinking of the cssation of regular passenger services between
Cooma and Bombala - the last regular passenger service from Bombala
ran on 11/8/1974 whilst the last train was on 26/3/1986.
