Re: Government support (was 4001)



Whereas C 3104 is equally significant, having entered service on the 
second electric train during April.1926 and was the longest serving 
electric car on the Sydney system bar none (withdrawn January 1992).

Considering the above, and the fact that the car rec'd a major refit at 
Goninan's during the 1980's, is it not unreasonable to assume a future 
could be found for this car?

PS; for the record, the car Bruce Cook purchased and took to Glenreagh 
was C3167, which was withdrawn from service in 1981. Having not received 
any major attention since its last overhaul in 1959, the car is basically 
a rusting wreck. Being stored in the humid climate of the North Coast 
doesn't help either....
