Fist of all you need to be a Female, you need to wait for the next
recruitment day at the City Rail College in Petersham. Good luck friend, I
have had my application in for more than six months and plenty of Females
have manged to come in before me and plenty more will.Im not sexist but the
City Rail policy for employing female train guards is.

It is illegal for any Australian company to discriminate against people
due to age, gender, sexual preference etc. etc. etc.
Whilst CityRail can actively encourage people of a particular gender to
apply for certain positions, they cannot legally exclude a more suitably
qualified candidate of the other gender.

If you can PROVE a less suitable candidate acquired a position over you,
purely because of their gender, you could instigate legal action and receive
compensation, the job, or both.

However, it can be difficult to prove a case of discrimination, as the
company can say you were unsuitable due to attitude etc. I suggest you
obtain legal advice re possible breaches of CityRail's own EEO policy.

    Good luck & Regards,
    Russ..
