"Train movement in the Goldfields-Esperance region is at a standstill this
morning, the twin effects of an industrial dispute and a derailment at
Merredin.
"Five wagons of the national freight train were derailed at about 3am and
the track is likely to be closed for two days.
"Meanwhile the rail transport union is pessimistic about a return to work
today by more than 500 Westrail drivers."
It seems that some Perth-Melbourne freights will be a few days late?
