Last Steam of the Year - R711 & R766 to Ballarat.

R766 is off to Ballarat to be rebuilt into a locomotive of the same
specification and configuration as R711.  You are invited to join the
tour as R766 goes to Ballarat on what is expected to be the last main
line steam run in Victoria for the year (some might even say century
or millennium) and R766's last journey as a coal burner.

The special train will depart Melbourne's Spencer Street Sunday
19/12/99, double headed with R711. There are at least 4 action packed
photo stops planned en route. 

Highlights will include R711 banking R766 up Warrenheip bank, and the
grand finale of the day will be R766 and R711 lining up alongside each
other at Ballarat East before a parallel run up Warrenheip bank (to my
knowledge this has never happened before).

The return journey to Melbourne will be with two T class diseasel
locos.

So come along and have a great day, only $35.00 return for adults,
$15.00 for children,  $6.00 for a lunch box, which is optional.  On
the shuttle trips, a small fee will apply.

Profits go to R700 restoration fund.
