4530 was never painted blue - You're probably thinking of 4531.

The Alco DL541 book states that 4530 suffered a electrical fire in Oct '88 and was in
considered for conversion to 35 Class, but it was too badly damaged. The book also states
that it was sold at the auction in Dec '94, but I'm sure it was scrapped way before that!
