There is no reduction in space for the Guard.
The Tangaras can be set up for Driver only operation as well. In fact the
Guard is very well catered for. The CCTV monitor screen behind the Guards
seat and the facility for the Guard to either use the digitised
announcements or his/her own are examples of this. Guards are not going
anywhere and the sooner the doomsayers get that into their thick heads the
better! This is not to say the job won't change slightly. There is not an
industry on the planet that is immune to change, so why should the Railway
be any different???
