QR Steam Restoration

C17 1000 (ex Redbank Museum) was moved to Ipswich Workshops on Thursday 12
August. It is apparently to be restored to working order by QR.

Toowoomba paper carried a story that the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce and
Southern Cross Foundry had reached agreement with QR for C16 106 (again ex
Redbank Museum) to be moved to Toowoomba for restoration by the Foundry
(they built it in 1915, works no. 28). They plan to run tours with it
around the Darling Downs. No mention of carriages though.

There was also another story about some group at Allora planning to run
trains on the old Hendon to Allora branch. Not steam though - they
apparently have the diesel loco ex Mackay Sugar terminal.
