Noticed that on the news. I couldnt understand at first how a passenger car
could have split and not hurt any one. Of course it wasnt a passenger car...

I wonder what this will do for the status of using the bagage cars, which
dont seem to have the crash resistance of a normal passenger car, as 'smoking
lounges'.

From my non-smoker point of view, the provision of seperate 'fume cupboards'
for the smokers was a major plus. There is nothing like being told 'this area
is non smoking' only to have the smoke from the other end of the room drift
over and ruin my experience of the meal. On my last trip on the IP I could
actually stay in the lounge cars as the smokers were in fume cupboards with
seperate ventilation.

Im traveling again on the IP in a week. I hope they dont have a car shortage
as a result of this and try to cancel trains. Our holiday is carefully
diagrammed!
