Re: Steam Cane Train at Nambour

The operation of ANGRMS steam loco at Nambour was an outstanding success and
gave photographers plenty of scope for some excellent camerawork. Local
business houses and townspeople were very happy with the event and the
additional tourists the operation of the steam train generated. Where else
in Australia today could you see a steam locomotive actually undertaking a
normal commercial activity (for which it was designed) such as this. Mill
management were well pleased with the events during the week such that the
Society has been invited back, probably for the Sugar Festival in 2001.
