 Mercer Report. CityRail has to many depots. Close one.

 Punchbowl depot had only just been upgraded to properly allow the 
servicing of double deck cars when it was closed.

 With in hours the wires were cut down and the area fenced off. The
next available track possession saw the points ripped out.

 Considering the haste with which the rail connections to the site were
cut, I rather doubt it. It would have made a pretty good site for an Electric
train museum I think. 
 The rapid destruction of the infrastucture would have killed that idea.


 I would imagine pending decontamination of the site, it will become a
hi-rise residental area. It is close to Bankstown Square, and Punchbowl
railway station. Not that any one would use the railway of course. :-)
