Stephen,

I may be able to shed some light on your questions.

The current railway alignment was opened 7/5/1916.

At the Illalong Creek end, where the roadway turns to cross the railway
line, the original alignment continued straight on then turned right to link
up with the present alignment just before crossing Illalong Creek.
