There is also the tunnel on the never-completed Dumbarton-Maldon line - at
around 4km long, it would have been the longest rail tunnel (AFAIK) in
Australia.
However, when I travelled from Moss Vale to Wollongong in 1993, I noticed an
excavator at the Dombarton end.
