But if you purchase a ticket that is *supposedly* available over all
services, and then happen to board a service where the operatorof the
service has not bothered to provide validation facilities, why should you be
penalised? Either the ticket is valid over all services, or it is not. If it
is not, then the validation facilities (or lack thereof) are a problem of
the operator, not the customer.
