Re: New CityRail rolling stock

I would like to see Cityrail replace the V sets on its long distance express

intercity transport market.  The replaced V sets would then fill any
shortage of commuter rolling stock.
I doubt they could improve on the V sets, even with all this new technology.
If you mean to use V sets on surburban services read on. If you don't ignore.

V sets can't be used on suburban services because the door ways are to narrow and it would take too long to pick up and set down passengers. Also 8 car V sets won't fit on a lot (most) suburban platforms. If you use 4 or 6 car V sets you won't move as many people as you would a suburban train. (that will give the whingers even more to whinge about.)
Keep the V sets on interurban work but free up those wretched G sets (with toilets removed) for surburban work. V sets are "specialised" cars not suited to suburban work.
