Mark's Marvellous Map of Bendigo?

Huh?
So a train from Swan Hill to Melbourne goes via Maryborough? (Swan
Hill - Eaglehawk - Bridgewater - Inglewood (reverse) - Dunolly -
Maryborough - Ballarat - Melbourne). Seems a hell of a detour to
bypass Bendigo. Passengers and their trains won't like that detour.
Or is my grasp of central Victorian geography that far out? I must
check your map again tonight, Mark <g!>.

Irony. Only 12 months ago, Echuca - Toolamba was pretty well
abandoned, steam passenger trains could only traverse the line "empty
cars" at 20-30 km/h. Now they've replaced every fifth sleeper and
it's an 80km/h line.

So all Echuca - Melbourne passenger services are supposed to go via
Shepparton.

These two "proposals" would eliminate several passenger trains a day
from Bendigo...... this should really help the VLP sale price along.
