Re: "Day of the Roses"



That incident occurred in 1985 (don't remember the exact date) and 
involved C3883, the rear car of a city bound six-car set. Caused due to 
heat buckling the tracks on the south-side of the bridge.

And no, the handrail didn't stop the train falling into the river, the 
checkrails did. The train could have easily demolished the handrail and 
taken the plunge otherwise.

For the record, C3883 is still in service on Sector 3 (I think) and still 
bears the scars from this incident around its lower-deck area.
