You couldn't just regauge them, you'd need to build entirely new bogies.

Believe it or not, this is actually feasable. The Refhen bogies ARE
capable of being converted to standard gauge. The ill-fated Southern Cross
Express was running on regauged and demotored Redhen bogies.
