422's

42220 and 42203 led 8627-8647-8628 d/a + 15 loaded ballast wagons through
Waterfall at around 1100 this morning,on arrival at Waterfall the train was
put into the UP refuge, as it came to a stand, it was given the road, ( if
they would have a go ) to follow MC74,
The two 422's literaly roared up the hill out of Waterfall, they ran
straight through Sutherland and on to Enfield. On arrival at Enfield the
ballast wagons where dropped in one of the arrival roads, the 422's then
positioned the 86's in the electric storage siding.
About now things started to get interesting, 4401 whistled out of Delec,
PL1 with 48103 in tow, passed by on the Down main, 8920 (grain from the
west) arrived behind 8169-8128 to attach 8125 for the trip to Port Kembla,
8005-8015 on trip train T106 where leaving the yard bound for Port Botany,
9821 was leaving the yard to go West behind 8140-8105 And on the scanner
Sydney yard was calling 3830,
Decided on the 80's and Cooks River, the train beat me to Cooks River staff
hut by the proverbial country mile, (no thanks to Sydney traffic) On hand
at Cooks River was Austrac's 4836 shutdown, X45 shunting various sidings,
to make up a train of 7 wagons and 12 containers for the run to Melbourne
(departed 1715), 8039-48108 T107 shunting FCL , A quick trip to Botany
found 8015-8005 waiting to depart light engine back to Enfield, 8011
shunting the wharves, NR28-8121-NR43 at the head of SB3
Back to Cooks River, NR32-NR25 led a very long PS6 into No1 siding, 8021
was working as T109 and 8124 was generally in the way, By now the sun was
getting low, I had forgotten to go to work, might as well go to the pub,
and watch the sun go down
