Refer an article on this subject in this month's (Nov) Railway Digest.
Nyngan gets a special mention in that some of the formation was removed
by the army to ease the flood situation.
Thus, one can assume that the chances of restoring rails to this pocket
of the system looks remote. Unless of course any proposed line takes
another formation. And even if it were physically possible, the costs
would be enourmous when one considers RAC's sky-high cost estimates on a
per-kilometre basis......
