Not very far. It consists of two interlockings Wyong A and Wyong B. The A
section covers from the down accept, which was Tuggerah's down starting signal
( located on the "Tuggerah straight"), and all the associated yard workings up
until the other side of the road overbridge just north of the station. The B
interlocking covers the high speed points use for bi- directional yard working
approx 2 kms towards Warnervale.
The reasoning on the two interlockings is due to the "Westrac" style computer
based interlocking setup. A new pushbutton panel which covers both
interlockings was installed in the old signalbox, replacing the leaver frame
machine ( which has been preserved by the local perway inspectors).

Also of note Tuggerah was abolished in conjunction with the resignalling a
few years ago. Both loops were straight railed, and all signals were
converted to permanent automatic signals.

The section between the A and B interlockings is approx 2 kms in distance and
this section is covered by yard working rules, and is commonly used to refuge
the larger freight trains that cannot be accomodated at Gosford. Gosford can
accomodate a train of approx 1200m. But this would require the use of the old
Garrat sidings at the northern end of the down loop.

I hope this is of some help

Stuart Ellis.
