NO. 8 TRACK AT FLINDERS STREET

Dear all,

Just looking at the latest signalling diagram for Flinders Street, I
noticed the number 8 road (for platform 8) finishes just a little beyond
the platform on Richmond end.  Does anyone know whether this is just a
temporary measure in account of the Federation Square Project,
considering the Signal 746 is still standing at that end of the platform
8?

Finally, it is interesting to note that there is no crossover from
platform 6 (Richmond end) to the Northern Loop.  If one is installed,
then platform 4 and 5 can be reconstructed without a total shutdown of
the Northern Loop.
