They have run into Victoria before. They were not an uncommon sight at
Wodonga Coal Sidings, and have run to Bandiana. During the Adelaide line
closure when everything was running via Cootamundra and parkes, a 48 even
made it to Benalla as an assisting unit, however somebody worked out it
would have run out of fuel before reaching Melbourne and wasn't allowed
there anyway, so was detached and sent back to Albury on the next down
freight.

The 49 class was also allowed the speed of an X and the load of a T when
three were down there to run plant trains on the new sg line.
