Re: Sydney's New Transitway



The Y Link has no chance to reach its potential if trains are not run on it.
On week days there are no direct services from Campbelltown between 6.28am
and 8.33am.  Too bad for anyone who might want to start work in Parramatta
between 8 and 9.  I don't think it has anything to do we line capacity,
trains ran throughout the peak in the short time the abortive November, '96
timetable was in use.

Passengers can change at Glenfield, but look at the connections, some are as
long as 14 minutes.  Then there are classics such as the 7.45 am ex
Glenfield which just misses a train from Campbelltown at 7.46am!  In
practice a connection is often made. Is this just due to guards using some
common sense?

The Y Link, nearly two years old has been overlaid on the existing timetable
and is not a good fit.  Why did they spend all that money when the passenger
still has to change, Glenfield or Granville what's the difference?

Only that people who used the train while it lasted are now back on the
Cumberland Highway or Woodville Road.
