Glenreagh Platform Demolition

On Sunday 14th March Glenreagh Station Platform on
the main line side is to be removed for its entire
length. A slope (batter) will be cut from about 1
metre from the island station building towards to
main line. The work is preumably to be carried out
by RSA.

The local community has been trying in vain for
the past few years to have the main line train
service restored to this station. Demolition will
certainly ensure that no Country Link trains will
stop there again. The platform has been in
disrepair for well over 10 years and no work at
all has been spent on its upkeep. Withdrawal of
the CountryLink service several years ago was
believed to be due to poor repair of the station
platform and low patronage.
