Glenferrie has both, the larger barrier gates and a stand-alone ticket
validator (like most stations) for the down platform (Pl. 3).  I have
been told that the single validator is there, because the P.T.C. want it
there, but why?  I wonder how many commuters would validate their twice
- once down in the subway and another one on top of the platform 3 ramp?
