The 17:51 (St Leonards) service to Penrith does a similar thing, running
on the down main to Clyde, crossing to the suburban just east of
Granville, then crossing back to the main just west of Harris Park.
This appears to be the normal operating path of the train (4 out of 4
times I've caught it in the last 2 weeks), yet there isn't a conflicting
movement in sight that should prevent the train from running all the way
to Parramatta on the main.
