WA Academic says Federal Gov has no rail savvy.

Picked up an item on ABC radio this morning with
Murdoch Uni Professor Peter Newman (not sure spelling
correct).  He claims to have searched for a Bureaucrat
within the Federal Transport dept and could not find
one with any interest or expertise in Railways.!

If this is correct, and given what is going on at the
moment, he probably is very near the mark, things do
not auger too well for the long term.

He was not too kind to State transport dept's either.
