The problem with travelling to Newcastle is that you would miss your
connecting train.  Most trains now connect at Hamilton, which does wonders
for the Beaumont Street, when the level crossing at the end of the station
is blocked by a few cars on an 8 car Sydney bound train overhanging the
station while waiting the service from Maitland running a few minutes late.
