and then the Vline all over orange before they changed it to orange and

Also not unlike the NR colours.
Just what is the fascination with orange in railway corporate colours? The
new Vline Passenger colours are much classier and I agree with you about AN.
The SRA candy colours were rather unusual for a railway and were in no way,
apart from maybe visibility, an improvement over the brown and yellow of the
NSWGR. The white and blue of the PTCNSW was a little better but a Navy blue
would have been more striking than the blue they used. QRs colours have
always been quite good too.
