Re: GM1 in Sydney

Folks, here's an update on the "foreign" locos movements in
Sydney.

Considerably later than advertised, the light engines left NRC
Chullora trackfast today, and , contrary to the STN, went into
Delec to collect an 81 class.

Leaving Delec about 1pm for Eveleigh, they were marshalled Q319 (long end
leading), AN1, 8162, L262 and GM1 , nose trailing. This appears to be
marshalled in "newest to oldest" order - not sure where
the 90 class will be slotted.

9008 went through Enfield South light engine about 12.30pm.

AN1 looks quite striking in its new NR colours, and an improvement
on the drab AN green. However it's difficult to judge the
aesthetics of the NR logo on the sloping front while
its marshalled with another loco. The L class is a rather daggy
specimen - if this is a "clean" one , I'd hate to see the rest!

Cheers,

Paul Hogan
